Effect of Mining Activities on Some Biochemical Parameters of Opanda-Ugya Inhabitants, Toto Local Government of Nigeria

Mining activities are usually associated with environmental pollution and the infiltration of toxic heavy metals into waterways which could be absorbed by plants or used inhabitants. The aim this research was to determine effect mining on some biochemical parameters Opanda-Ugya inhabitants, Toto Local government Nigeria. Four hundred fifty (450) people were interviewed using questionnaires. Eighty (80) them carefully grouped four: Group 1(20 Control), 2 (20 inhabitants), 3 indirect miners) 4 direct miners). Survey discovered symptoms that metal toxicity among Biochemical assay blood samples revealed no significant (P ˃0.05) increase in Serum ALT, AST Total bilirubin groups 2, when compared control, but a decrease TP. creatinine levels increased significantly group control.
